An Arizona man is behind bars after he allegedly shot his 3-year-old daughter Thursday evening, police in Surprise said.
Neighbors first reported a man acting erratically near 184th Drive and Bell Road at around 6:30 p.m. before he called 911 himself.
Dariusz Modrzejewski told dispatchers that he was planning to harm his family, sending police to his home.

A SWAT team and crisis negotiators arrived at the home and heard a gunshot.
They entered the home and found a 3-year-old girl suffering from a gunshot wound. The girl was rushed to a hospital in critical condition.
Modrzejewski is facing charges including aggravated assault, use of a deadly weapon, and assaulting a child under the age of 15.
