An Illinois toddler was hit and killed by a vehicle backing out of a driveway in the Chicago suburb of Bolingbrook, police said.
The tragedy occurred at around 1:53 p.m. Sunday in the 300 block of Grand Canyon Drive in Bolingbrook.
Bolingbrook police officers started life-saving measures at the scene before Bolingbrook Fire Department paramedics arrived, but the girl could not be saved.

The 2-year-old girl was rushed to a hospital in critical condition before succumbing to her injuries Tuesday.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office later identified the girl as Yunaleska Nival.
“This is a tragic incident for everyone involved,” Chief of Police Mike Rompa said.
