A California man accused of killing and decapitating his parents made a shocking court appearance Friday.
Joseph Brandon Gerdvil, 41, appeared at the Superior Court of Orange County for a pre-trial hearing donning a full dark beard and using a walker.
The appearance was a stark change from the Gerdvils’ selfies and pictures he used to share on social media before the alleged murders.
Gerdvil is accused of decapitating his parents, Antoinette Gerdvil, 79, and Ronald Gerdvil, 77, and their dog inside their San Juan Capistrano home on July 9.
He was caught driving a golf cart, covered in blood, and was shot by police. As officers handcuffed him, Gerdvil reportedly asked them, “Just finish me off. Put one in my head. Put one in my head, please. I bed of you.”
A family member said that Gerdvil was violent, and suffered from mental health issues.
