Father turns teen son in to police after fatal shooting that killed young man

A Florida man brought his teen son to the Leesburg Police Department hours after a fatal shooting that claimed a 20-year-old man’s life late Friday.

Police responded to a shooting at a home on Tuskegee Street and Leesburg in Lake County, Florida, at around 7 p.m.

20-year-old Dontae D. Copeland was found suffering from fatal gunshot wounds and was taken to UF Health Leesburg Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

    They said his father brought him to the police department, where he was questioned and detained.

    Pickard is now facing premeditated murder and conspiracy charges.
