Amazon Founder Jeff Bezos has spent a colossal $46 million on his “wedding of the century” that took place in Venice, Italy, this week.
Bezos, 61, tied the knot to Lauren Sanchez, 55, on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore, where they welcomed a host of celebrities, including Kim Kardashian, Lady Gaga, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Oprah Winfrey.
A whopping amount of money fueled the celebrations that will continue until Monday, with at least $2million spent only on wines and champagne.
A source told The U.S. Sun that the wedding took “months of planning” since the happy couple wanted “everything done exactly their way.”
“This is the biggest wedding ever organized. Not just because of the money spent, but also due to the extraordinary level of luxury and detail involved.”
The staff of 150 waiters and waitresses cost Bezos about $1.8 million, while décor and visual presentation totaled around $4.5 million, floral arrangement approximately $1.6 million, $9 million for reserve spots, $6 million for parking, and security and culinary operations adding another $1 million to the budget.
“Jeff insisted on covering the cost. He wants everyone to feel fully taken care of, from arrival to departure.”
