Authorities in Alabama are looking for the pilot and potential passengers of a small plane that crashed in a secluded field in Baldwin County early Friday.
First responders rushed to the scene where a small Cessna 182 aircraft crashed on the Gulf Coast just east of Mobile, but couldn’t locate any occupants.
They reportedly found the small plane flipped upside down with bloodstains and shattered glass inside.
After further investigation, detectives spotted tire marks at the crash site and suspected that those onboard may have been transported to a hospital.
“I’ve not been told of anybody self-reporting to a hospital for any kind of injuries associated with this,” Baldwin County Emergency Management Director Tom Tyler said.
“I certainly have not heard from any area hospitals.”
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will arrive on Monday to investigate the incident.
