A standoff ended with the death of a man after he allegedly killed his parents and wounded an officer.
The suspect allegedly shot and killed his mother in a Harris County home late Saturday before traveling an hour and a half to Leon County, where he gunned down his father.
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said the suspect admitted to killing his parents and barricaded himself inside his father’s home.
The suspect opened fire on law enforcement during the standoff, wounding an officer.
When police ultimately gained access to the residence, they found the suspect deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
His father’s body was also found inside the home along with a deceased dog.
“Very tragic situation all around. We’re going to have to piece it all together and see what may have transpired,” the sheriff said.
“Condolences go out to any other living family members and to this community as well.”
