Five people were stabbed during a fight on Chicago’s Southwest Side around midnight Saturday, authorities said.
Police responded to a call reporting several people stabbed in the 6200 block of South Kedzie Avenue in the Chicago Lawn.
Investigators said a verbal altercation between two groups escalated when a 29-year-old woman grabbed a sharp object and stabbed people.

The victims included a 47-year-old man who suffered a critical stab wound to the left eye.
Another woman was also accused of punching several people with a closed fist. Both women were arrested.
The stabbing is under investigation. What led to the argument remains unclear.
