Connecticut father admits to beating son, 12, to death with baseball bat; trying to kill teen daughter

A Connecticut father was charged with murder after he allegedly killed his 12-year-old son and tried to kill his 16-year-old daughter.

Anthony Andrew Esposito Jr., 52, was pulled over while driving on Route 79 by Branford Police.

The man allegedly admitted to beating his 12-year-old son, Anthony P. Esposito, to death with a baseball bat for being “disrespectful.”

    The father’s public defender told a judge on Friday that the man has suffered from mental health issues since childhood and has been admitted to mental health facilities several times.

    The judge set a $3 million bond, citing the “horrendous nature of the allegations.”

    Esposito was issued a no-contact protective order and placed on suicide watch while detained.
