The decomposed remains of a missing homeless woman were found this week outside a Huntington, New York apartment complex.
Suffolk County police identified the remains as Seikeya Jones, 31, a homeless woman reported missing on August 16.
Jones was last seen on doorbell footage walking inside the building with a man, police said.
Her body was discovered inside a suitcase along a wooded area on Tuesday after residents complained of a foul odor.
“I was taking a walk. I smelled something. I saw a whole bunch of flies. I had looked over and I saw the suitcase,” one said.
“So then I called it in, I was like I’d rather be safe than sorry,”
“This is out of the ordinary. This is not normal.”
The victim’s cause of death and for how long she had been deceased remain unclear.
