Woman’s legless body remains unidentified week after found in California waterway

Authorities in California are asking for the public’s help in identifying a legless woman’s corpse found in a south Los Angeles County waterway Sunday afternoon.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office said the body was missing both legs when for in the Dominguez Channel in the city of Carson between I-405 and the SouthBay Pavilion Mall.

The body has a large skin tag on the right portion of the torso and stretch marks on the abdomen.

  • While the decedent’s age, height, and weight couldn’t be determined, the office provided a photo of the clothing she had on her when found in the channel.

    The woman was wearing a long, XL sleeveless, button-up “Old Navy” knit dress which investigators hope would help identify her.

    A cause and manner of death are pending. Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s homicide detectives at 213-229-1700.
