West Haven news, Utah news.

A Utah mother was found dead with her three young children in a car earlier this month in what investigators have deemed a murder-suicide.

32-year-old Maribel Ibarra fatally shot her three children, all under the age of 5, before taking her own life on Sept. 3.

“Based on video evidence, physical evidence, witness statements, and interviews with family members, detectives believe that this was a tragic incident of murder-suicide,” said Weber County Lt. Terance Lavely.

A GoFundMe page set up to help with funeral expenses revealed that Ibarra struggled with depression.

“Like many people around the world, unfortunately, Maribel Ibarra was overwhelmed by the hopelessness in which people with depression are immersed, which led her to take actions that we deeply regret.”
