Tennessee mother arrested after 6-year-old son found with loaded gun at school

A Memphis woman was charged this week after authorities said her son brought a loaded gun to school.

Ke’Erinie King, 22, faces charges of child abuse and child neglect or endangerment, carrying a weapon on school property, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Police were called to Getter K-8 School at 4649 Horn Lake Road in Memphis at around 8:40 a.m. Thursday.

    The 6-year-old student was reportedly showing off the loaded gun to his classmates and passing it to them.

    A staff member confiscated the weapon and alerted the resource officer.

    Police said the weapon was reported stolen but King later admitted the gun belonged to her.
