Illinois man accused of executing wife in presence of 4-year-old daughter

An Illinois man has been charged with first-degree murder after he allegedly shot his wife to death while their 4-year-old daughter was home.

Steven Kramer, 39, and Jamie Neumann, 47, got into a verbal altercation on September 5 before things quickly escalated into a shooting.

Kramer allegedly shot Neumann six times including in the face. He reportedly met a responding officer and led her to Neumann’s body.

  • “The victim had blood coming from her mouth, apparent trauma to her face, and what appeared to be brain matter on her upper chest,” authorities said.

    “I offer my sincerest condolences to Jaime’s family and friends as they grieve their loss, particularly her children, who are now forced to live a life without the love and support only a mother can provide,” said DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin.

    “While nothing can be done to bring Jaime back to those who loved her, thanks to the outstanding work of the Warrenville Police Department, we will be able to bring a strong prosecution against the man who allegedly took her life.”
