Rome news, World news.

Pope Francis said on Friday that in his opinion both U.S. presidential candidates are “against life.”

The pope was answering reporters’ questions on the papal plane on his way from a marathon Asia trip.

“They are both against life – the one who throws away migrants and the one who kills children.”

Asked who he would advise a Catholic voter to choose between a candidate that backs abortion rights and another who plans to deport 11 million migrants, the pope answered that “one must vote.”

Pope Francis invited American Catholics to inspect their conscience before heading to the polls.

“It should be clear that sending migrants away, denying migrants the capacity to work, to not welcome migrants, it is a sin. It is grave,” he explained.

He also called abortion “murder” under the Catholic Church's perspective.

“Whether you like the word or not, it is a killing. It is an assassination, and on this we should be clear.”
