A 17-year-old Alabama boy drowned Friday after he jumped into a lake to retrieve his cellphone authorities said.
Gustavo Ernesto Ordonez Grave was reportedly with family members at Sportsman Park at around 3 p.m. when he dropped his phone into Sportsman Lake.

The teen dove in to retrieve the phone but never resurfaced. The family then called for help at around 3:30 p.m.
“The current was real rough because of all the rain we’ve had, and he didn’t come back up,” Coroner Mike West said.
Grave’s body was recovered from the lake at 7:02 p.m. West said there were no signs suggesting that he hit his head after jumping into the lake.
