2 dead, 1 injured in shooting on Chicago’s Near West Side

Two people were killed and a third injured after a shooting on Chicago’s Near West Side early Saturday, authorities said.

The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. in the 2300 block of West Roosevelt Road near the Tri-Taylor area, police said.

Three gunmen exited a car and fired several shots at two men, ages 24 and 25, and a 23-year-old woman who were on a sidewalk.

    The 25-year-old man took himself to the hospital after suffering a gunshot wound to the ankle.

    Police said the gunmen took off in an SUV. No arrests were made.

    The Chicago Police Department is investigating the incident.
