US soldier dies of ‘non-combat related incident’ while serving in Iraq

A Pullman, Michigan, man serving in Iraq died following a “non-combat related incident”, the U.S. Department of Defense said Wednesday.

Staff Sgt. Saul Fabian Gonzalez, 26, dies Tuesday while serving Erbil in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.

He was assigned to D Troop, 2nd Squadron, 101st Combat Aviation Brigade, 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
