Kentucky news, US news.

The search for a gunman accused of shooting and wounding five people in Kentucky earlier this month is over after his body was located near Interstate 75.

Kentucky State Police Commissioner Phil Burnett Jr. said that although an official identification remains pending, items and a weapon found next to the body confirm that the decedent was Joseph Couch.

Police were notified of the discovery of a decomposing body “in the deep brush behind exit 49” at around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
