Four Albany Police officers were hospitalized Wednesday after their two cruisers collided while responding to a call for backup.
Officers were struggling with “a combative suspect” in upstate New York when they requested backup.
The two police cruisers were heading to the scene when they collided with each other.

The four occupants of the cruisers suffered head trauma including two with serious injuries.
A third officer suffered a serious leg injury. All four officers are expected to recover.
The suspect was eventually arrested and is facing charges of drug possession and obstructing governmental administration.
