Worker crushed to death after tree fell wrong direction in Connecticut

A Connecticut worker was crushed to death by a tree that fell in the wrong direction, authorities said Monday.

Officers responded to the scene at 16 Chipman Drive shortly before 4:10 p.m. Monday after receiving reports of a landscaping worker who had been trapped underneath a tree.

50-year-old Timothy Healy, of Naugatuck, was rushed to an area hospital where he died.

“Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) responded to the scene and is working in conjunction with the Cheshire Police Department to investigate this incident,” authorities said.

The Cheshire Fire Department and Trinity Ambulance Service were also involved in response to the incident.
