A Long Island homeowner made a grisly discovery of a dead body after taking the cover off his swimming pool for the summer on Sunday.

A body believed to be that of 23-year-old Matthew Zoll was located in a homeowner’s pool on Pal Court, approximately half a mile south of where he crashed after killing his father in November 2024.

While authorities conduct DNA analysis to confirm the deceased person’s identity, they believe the body has been in the pool for a long period.

“I don’t know why somebody would try to get under the cover. I mean, it just is not a smart thing to do,” a neighbor commented.
