Seven people were shot at a Lakewood, Washington park late Wednesday night, police said.
Two men were listed in critical condition after the mass shooting at Harry Todd Park.
Five people were transported to the hospital while two others sought treatment themselves.
Police said the scene was “chaotic” with people fleeing and screaming. No arrests were made.
“Right now, you know, we’ve had these couple of days here where the sun finally came out,” Officer Charles Porche said.
“It’s been a gorgeous time for people to get out and enjoy the park, the lake, and then you have something like this happen.”
“It is one of the great tragedies, you don’t want anybody to get shot.”
It remains unclear whether the incident was targeted or random.
“Even if it was a random incident, it was something that happened here. This was for whatever reason was their focus today,” Porche added.
