A Florida mother is dead, and her three children are recovering after a fiery crash triggered by a tire blowout.
Olivia Maggs, 32, and her children were traveling in a 2023 Honda Odyssey on Interstate 95 in Brevard County when an adjacent pickup truck suffered a tire blowout and lost control.
The truck slammed into Magg’s SUV and forced it into a guardrail. The SUV burst into flame, killing the mother.
Good Samaritans pulled Maggs’ three children, ages 4, 3, and 8 months old, out of the burning wreck, but Maggs couldn’t be saved.
The two older boys are expected to be OK, but little Ella is clinging to life after suffering a broken femur and a brain bleed.
The pickup truck’s driver and his passenger did not sustain injuries and remained at the scene.
“A lot of people who have reached out have asked how you can help,” Magg’s husband wrote on Facebook. “The first would be for continuing prayer.”
“Prayers for comfort and healing for the family, especially the boys who had to sit in the car seeing their mom after the accident and have lots of tough questions; Prayers for Ella, who suffered a fractured leg and brain bleed in the accident.”
