Sisters found stabbed to death inside townhome; Manhunt ongoing for suspect

A suspect has been identified in connection with the killings of two sisters inside a Cook County townhouse late Wednesday.

The bodies of Janiya Jenkins, 21, and Uyani Jones, 10, were discovered with fatal stab wounds inside a home in the 1500 block of McKool Avenue just before 8 p.m.

  • A neighbor said her daughter was on the phone with the younger victim when she heard Jenkins screaming, “Don’t kill the kids.”

    Then the girls’ younger brother and a baby came to their home seeking help, and she discovered the victims’ bodies on the second floor of their residence with blood “everywhere.”

    Police are looking for 25-year-old Jalonie Jenkins in Bensenville in connection with the killings. He is considered armed and dangerous.
