A Chicago woman was arrested after she allegedly stabbed three young children on the city’s South Side late Wednesday, police said.
The incident occurred in the 7100 block of South Harvard Avenue at just before 5:45 p.m.
The 33-year-old woman brought the three victims, a 1-year-old girl, and two boys aged 3 and 5, to St. Bernard Hospital after stabbing them in the right wrists.
The victims were transferred to Comer Children’s Hospital in serious condition.
Police arrested the woman. A witness who drove her and the kids to the hospital recalled seeing them covered in blood, with the baby on the sidewalk.
“When we were in the back, the security guard asked her what happened. She was like, ‘I did it because I got three different baby daddies and nobody’s trying to help me.’ That’s when he grabbed her and took her and put her in that room.”
He continued: “What’s so bad about it, and the little boy told, and this is what hurt me the most, cause the little boy in the truck say, ‘mama don’t cry, it’s going to be all right.’”
