A graduation party for a young Texas man ended with his death after he was gunned down during a fight involving two groups of girls, police said.
18-year-old Andrew Farias was shot and killed at around 1 a.m. Sunday, in a residence where his aunt hosted a graduation party for him.
Witnesses told detectives that two groups of girls started fighting over “making faces” and talking about others when Farias’ aunt intervened.
17-year-old Chad Lee-Gardner then “jumped in” and hit the aunt in the head with a handgun before being confronted by Farias.
Lee-Gadner fired two shots, fatally striking the other teen, who died in his girlfriend’s arms.
“I’m glad he knew I was with him till the very end,” the woman said.
Lee-Gardner took off before police arrived but was eventually arrested on murder charges.
