The gruesome murder of a missing Alabama woman whose body was burned in a barrel at the suspect’s home was caught on video footage, prosecutors said Friday.
Autumn Paige Strickland, 38, was last seen alive Friday neat the Stricklin Hotel in Florence.
Investigators said she was killed the following day at the hands of 28-year-old Logan Rogers, who allegedly ran over her twice in the 1600 block of North Wood Avenue.
“Video evidence supports that Logan Rogers struck the victim twice and that his act was intentional due to the location and manner in which it was carried out,” Det. Justin Adams said.
About half an hour after the killing, Rogers allegedly returned to the scene with a pickup truck and hauled Strickland’s body off into the vehicle.
A search of Rogers’ home revealed human remains believed to be Strickland’s in a burn barrel.
Rogers was already facing charges for threatening to kill his parents earlier this year.
“I never know from one minute til the next how he will be,” Rogers’ mother told the court, seeking a protection order against him.
“The least little things sets him off. I’m physically and mentally traumatized.”
