3 killed when vehicle rear-ends unoccupied, parked car in Vallejo

Three occupants of a car were killed in a crash involving a parked vehicle in Vallejo, California, early Saturday.

Officers and firefighters were called to a traffic crash in the area of Sonoma Boulevard at Valle Vista Avenue just after 3 a.m.

Investigators determined that a car slammed into the rear of a parked, unoccupied vehicle on Sonoma Boulevard.

  • Three adult males were found unresponsive inside the car, which sustained significant damage.

    As officers performed life-saving measures on the rear passenger of the car, firefighters extricated the driver and front passenger from the wreckage.

    All three were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities were not immediately known.

    The VPD is investigating alcohol or substance use involvement in the crash.
