Suspect arrested after stabbing woman to death; wounding 2 boys in Chicago

A suspect was arrested Friday after he allegedly killed a woman and injured her two young sons in a domestic incident that prompted an Amber Alert in Chicago.

Police said the suspect fatally stabbed the boys’ 33-year-old mother just before 7 p.m. Thursday in the 7100 block of South Eberhart Avenue in Greater Grand Crossing.

The victim, later identified as Teone Jones, was stabbed multiple times in the back and abdomen. She died at the University of Chicago Hospital.

Jones’ 11-year-old son was found stabbed multiple times in the abdomen in the 200 block of West 66th Street at around 8:10 p.m.

    The boy was believed to be stabbed multiple times as well. He was last seen with the 39-year-old suspect in an SUV.

    On Friday morning, the critically wounded boy showed up at a gas station convenience store near 82nd Street and Damen Avenue seeking help.

    The Amber Alert was subsequently canceled at 4:23 a.m. Both boys are currently receiving treatment at Comer Children’s Hospital.

    Police located the suspect, later identified as Marcus Bausley, on Interstate 65 in Merrillville, Indiana at around 10 a.m. and arrested him.
