Brothers allegedly stabbed employer to death as he argued with their mother

An Illinois father-of-four was stabbed to death last weekend after he was allegedly attacked by an employee’s two sons during an argument.

The stabbing occurred at 11:27 p.m. Saturday at Forty-One Fourteen Steaks and Seafood in Waukegan.

Joshua Kirkwood, 51, was reportedly arguing with a female employee of the restaurant he managed when her two sons intervened.

  • 21-year-old Iziah Gonzalez and his 16-year-old brother were subsequently arrested and charged in connection to Kirkwood’s death.

    “After an argument between Kirkwood and the mother, Gonzalez got into a physical altercation with him,” police said.

    “Gonzalez’ brother then joined into the physical altercation and began stabbing Kirkwood. During which his mother sustained a laceration to her leg and later went to Vista Medical Center for treatment.”

    The teen suspect turned himself in to authorities Monday after police failed to locate him. He was charged as an adult with first-degree murder.
