An Oregon family is relieved after charges were filed against the owner of the home where their teen daughter overdosed on fentanyl two years ago.

On Tuesday afternoon, a Multnomah County judge hit 52-year-old Hooman Rahnamoon with charges of frequenting a place where controlled substances are used and several counts of endangering a minor.

Lauren Dominguez, 15, died in 2023 from a fentanyl overdose at Rahnamoon’s home after sneaking out of her family’s residence, her mother said.

“This homeowner held no accountability when my 15-year-old daughter was welcomed into his home in the middle of the night, and the second night [she was there], she died,” Tracy Dominguez said.

“I am bummed, to say the least, but we are taking steps forward. That’s all we ever wanted,” Tracy added.

District Attorney Nathan Vazsquez admitted that more should be done in similar situations calling for a change in state laws.

“Those were the charges that we could find to fit in the situation. Do I think there’s a greater severity to what happened? Obviously, yes,” Vasquez added.
