An Oklahoma man was arrested for allegedly leaving her two young children unattended after getting drunk, leading to her 2-month-old son’s death.
Kristeny N. Davis, 32, was arrested last week and charged with one count of second-degree murder in connection to the Jan. 7.
Norman Police officers were called to the OU Children’s Hospital at around 10:30 p.m. about an infant with fatal head injuries and skull fractures.
The infant’s mother claimed she found him “injured and laying in a small ball pit.” She also claimed her older son threw “the victim into that same ball pit” the previous day.
“Initial reports to investigators were that the child had been flung into a ball pit in the residence and that’s how the injuries occurred,” Police Spokesperson Sarah Schettler said.
Davis later admitted that she had been drinking throughout the day. She fell asleep for about an hour and a half after picking up the children from daycare leaving them unattended.
“I can’t do anything but blame myself,” Davis allegedly told investigators.
