Aurora news, Colorado news.

A Colorado woman and her toddler daughter were gunned down Saturday during a domestic incident at an Aurora apartment.

The suspect took his own life in a back bedroom and an older woman, believed to be the toddler’s grandmother, suffered a gunshot wound to the hand.

Police responded at around 10:30 a.m. to a 911 call during which the dispatcher could hear screaming and fighting in the background.

A second call was made and the dispatcher heard shots fired.

“The officers cleared the apartment, went into a back bedroom, and in the back bedroom they located a male who at this time appears to have self-inflicted with a handgun,” Police Chief Todd Chamberlain said.

“It appears that all of these individuals are family members or are connected in some way,”

“This was not a random act, so again I want to let the community to be aware of that, this was not something that spontaneously happened around this area or this community but it appears to unfortunately be an act against family members.”
