An American couple was shot and killed in a pickup truck near their residence in Angamacutiro, in the state of Michoacán late Wednesday.
Gloria Ambriz, 50, was pronounced dead at the scene while 53-year-old Rafael Cardona died at the hospital shortly after they found suffering gunshot wounds in a 2016 Ford Platinum pickup truck.
Cardon was reportedly the brother of the wife of Angamacutiro’s mayor.

The couple lived in California and had a house in Angamacutiro. The double homicide occurred near their residence.
Investigators collected ballistic evidence and are working to determine a motive.
The victims’ bodies were handed over to relatives in Angamacutiro and will be buried there.
