Officials have ruled the mysterious disappearance of a Princess Cruise ship passenger a “man overboard situation” after he went missing during a five-day trip to Mexico.
The company said the 72-year-old man was unaccounted for when the Ruby Princess ship arrived in San Francisco on Monday at 6:50 a.m.

Investigators reviewed surveillance footage and searched the ship multiple times but couldn’t locate the missing passenger who was traveling alone.
“We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the guest who was traveling alone,” company officials said.
The U.S. Customs and Border Protection are investigating the case.
