San Diego news, California news.

A California man is dead after he was brutally mauled by his own three dogs at a San Diego park on Friday, authorities said.

Pedro Ortega, 26, was with his son at the playground when his three XL bully-breed dogs attacked him.

Witnesses rushed to the father’s rescue, hitting the canines with golf clubs before officers arrived and used Tasers leading the dogs to run off.

One of the dogs escaped to a neighbor’s garage, panting and covered in blood.

  • “He was skinny. You could see all of his ribs. He was covered in blood head to toe, so it was probably not his own, and he had a Taser dart sticking out of him,” the neighbor recalled.

“We still have blood on the car from where he wiped his face when he went through it.”

All three dogs were captured after a temporary lockdown at a local elementary school and have since been euthanized.

“I’ve never seen anything like this happen here before and hope it never happens again,” the neighbor said.
