A Boston woman was mauled to death by one of her dogs earlier this week, police said.
Jeriline Brady-McGinnis was described as a “loving, caring mother” who would cook dinner for her dogs every night.
But on Monday afternoon, one of the dogs attacked Brady-McGinnis and her husband before taking off.
“While [officers] were there, the dog returned and attacked the two officers,” Deputy Superintendent Paul McLaughlin said.
“Given what he had done to the two victims, the officers made the decision to discharge and to put the dog down.”
Brady-McGinnis succumbed to her injuries. Her husband suffered “very serious” injuries. Two officers were also injured in the incident.
“She’s very close to her animals, almost like children, I think. She took good care of them. She walked them every day,” a friend said.
“She’s a wonderful person, very generous, very loving person, loved animals.”
