Lorain County news, Ohio news.

A third-grade student is facing criminal charges after she allegedly made false bomb threats on Facebook causing the shutdown of the entire Clearview Local School District.

The girl allegedly claimed on Facebook that explosives were planted inside Lorain’s Clearview High School and Durling Middle School.

The threats caused the closure of both schools and the entire Clearview Local School District on Thursday.

The Lorain County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI searched for bombs before deeming the incident a false alarm after nothing suspicious was found.

The juvenile reportedly admitted that she made a similar threat in September.

She was charged with inducing panic and referred to the Hamilton County Juvenile Court Assessment Center in Cincinnati.

“It’s really sad,” the mother of a Durling student said. “Parents should have a little more involvement in what their kids are doing.”
