San Tan Valley news, Arizona news.

An Arizona teen stands accused of slaughtering his mother and then claiming she had been kidnapped, police said.

Mary Collier’s body was found shortly after 9 p.m. Tuesday in a field in San Tan Valley by a jogger.

The jogger’s 911 call was followed by another call from the victim’s 18-year-old son who reported that his mother was kidnapped.

“We don’t have any evidence to show that there was an actual kidnapping,” said Lt. Ross Teeple.

He was hospitalized for “self-inflicted wounds”, authorities said.

“He will be booked into the Pinal County Jail for First Degree Murder upon his release from the hospital.”
