Minnesota couple, pet dog killed in mobile home explosion

A Minnesota couple and their pet dog were killed early Tuesday in a blast that rocked their rented mobile home in Princeton.

Police received multiple calls reporting the explosion that was heard 20 miles away just after 4 a.m.

  • The victims were identified as Katherine A. Kreger, 61, and her 60-year-old husband Royce E. Kreger Jr. Their dog also perished in the explosion.

    The owner of the mobile home said he “never had a problem or an issue” with the residence he owned for 15 years and then “boom, it just blows up.”

    While an official cause for the explosion remains undetermined, deputies reported seeing a tank shooting propane into the air when they responded to the scene.
