Lehigh County news, Pennsylvania news.

A Pennsylvania man has allegedly confessed to the gruesome murder and dismemberment of his roommate, authorities said.

Joshua Moser, 33, has been charged with murder over the death of 37-year-old David Hittinger whose body parts were tossed in three different locations across the state.

Police learned of Hittinger’s disappearance on May 13 after a missing person was filed with the Pennsylvania State Police for the man who was last seen alive on May 11.

Investigators went to Moser’s residence on the 600 block of West Franklin Street after learning that Hittinger had recently moved into the home.

On May 15, during questioning, Moser admitted to strangling Hittinger and hitting his head with a hammer in the basement.

He also admitted to dismembering the victim, dumping body parts in three different locations in Slatington Borough and Washington Township, police said.

Authorities found severed human body parts in trash bags in the locations and confirmed Hittinger’s identity through a fingerprint on his severed hand.

It remains unclear why Moser killed Hittinger as he faces charges of criminal homicide, abusing a corpse, and falsifying or tampering with physical evidence.
