A 46-year-old Tennessee man was taken into custody after the remains of a missing man he was seen assaulting were found buried on Wednesday.
Joey Guinn, 46, is accused of killing 64-year-old Edward Elliott who vanished in late January after an altercation.
Witnesses reported seeing Guinn and another man beating Elliott outside Guinn’s home leaving a pool of blood at the location of the fight.
The same witnesses saw Guinn leaving his home in a truck with a “job box” container. When he returned, the container was not there.
Guinn admitted that Elliot had visited his home. On Wednesday, a cadaver dog located the missing man’s remains in a remote area of Hampton.
The remains were reportedly buried inside a large freezer. The cause of death is still being determined.
Guinn was charged with first-degree murder, abuse of a corpse, and tampering with evidence.
