A Florida homeowner made a disturbing discovery while working in his backyard Thursday, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.
The owner of the home on Sunny Acres Drive in the Magnolia Gardens section of Jacksonville spotted “toes sticking out of the ground” while doing some yard work.
The man then ran to the residence where he alerted a woman doing some work inside.
“We were working inside the house and then the owner came to us and said, ‘Hey, there is something here. We have to call 911. I said OK, I was shook,” she said.
“They were all black and stuff but I guess that was from decomposing. I just hope that everything gets solved.”
Detectives said the house was under renovation at the time of the grisly discovery.
Forensics team and the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
“My reaction to this is just craziness. I would never expect this, especially at a house that I am working at.”
