Man finds bodies of wife, 2 children, and pets inside Spokane home

A Washington man called 911 just before midnight Friday after he returned home to find his wife, two children, and the family pets deceased in their Northwest Spokane home.

Officers pronounced the victims dead at the scene in the 2600 block of West Woodside Avenue and deemed the incident as a suspected murder-suicide.

The mother of two children, who were under 12 years old, is the suspected killer.

  • The Balboa Elementary School said in a statement that the slain children were formerly students of the school. Recently, they were being homeschooled.

    “It is with great sadness that I inform you of the death of two former Balboa students,” the school’s principal said in a statement to parents.

    “They were being currently homeschooled. We can’t share specifics about the incident right now, but many of our students, families, and staff are deeply impacted by this loss.”
