The family of a Minnesota toddler is preparing him to be an organ donor after doctors determined he won’t survive a July 19 mauling incident.
Police said 3-year-old Covil Allen was with his parents in the backyard of a Brooklyn Park home to buy a dog.

Two pit bulls attacked the toddler as adults “started to defend him by suing hammers and pick axes to get the dogs off,” authorities said.
The attack was still ongoing when officers arrived and shot both dogs, killing one. The other was euthanized at a veterinary hospital.
Covil’s family said his mother was also bitten on the leg and underwent several surgeries.
