An Alabama woman was mauled to death by her husband’s dog after she entered its pen Thursday evening.
The 62-year-old victim was found deceased inside the dog pen at around 9:30 p.m.
A family member went to check on her after she did not return to the residence or answer calls.
Police said the family member who discovered the victim’s body was also attacked by the dog.

The large breed dog was killed by its owner, who is the victim’s husband.
“He was forced to put the dog down,” Tuscaloosa County Violent Crimes Capt. Marty Sellers said.
“The family had never had issues with it before.”
The victim’s identity was not immediately disclosed.
