Small plane crashes in Maine killing 2 occupants

Two people were killed Thursday when a small plane crashed in Bar Harbor, Maine authorities said.

The Federal Aviation Administration said the plane crashed near Hancock County-Bar Harbor Airport shortly before 12:30 p.m.

The doomed aircraft had taken off from Morristown Municipal Airport in New Jersey.

    “Regrettably, two souls aboard the aircraft lost their lives as a result of the crash and ensuing fire,” Muise added.

    The victims’ identities were not immediately made public. Multiple agencies responded to the incident with a priority of providing “aid to those involved” and ensuring “the safety and effectiveness of emergency responders.”
