Kentucky mother arrested after toddler overdoses on drugs; 4 other children removed from home

A Kentucky mother was arrested last weekend after her 20-month-old baby overdosed on drugs, Hopkinsville Police said.

Jasmine Bartolo, 25, has been charged with four counts of first-degree wanton endangerment and first-degree criminal child abuse among a slew of other counts.

The victim was brought to Jennie Stuart Medical Center suffering from an apparent drug overdose.

  • Life-saving measures were administrated at the hospital and the child was then transferred to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.

    Police searched Bartolo’s home where they discovered pills of suspected fentanyl, marijuana, and a firearm.

    The State Department of Children's Services removed four other children from the home.

    The victim’s condition is unknown. Bartolo is being held at the Christian County Detention Center.
