A Connecticut woman set to learn her fate for the 2017 brutal slaying of her husband was found dead hours before her sentencing hearing.
Linda Kosuda-Bigazzi, 76, confessed to bludgeoning Dr. Pierluigi Bigazzi, 84, to death and wrapping his body in a rug left in the basement of their Burlington residence.
She then kept collecting payment checks from his job at UConn Health until her arrest.
After pleading guilty to first-degree manslaughter and first-degree larceny, Kosuda Bigazzi was awaiting her sentencing set for Wednesday.
Her lawyer confirmed that she died “unexpectedly” before Wednesday’s proceeding without elaborating on a cause.
“She was a very independent woman who was always in control of her own destiny,” the attorney said.
